Truly, I am not even exaggerating when I say that I turned around to make sure Luke was following me, and he was CLIMBING THAT POLE!!! The tricky part was getting him to stay there long enough to take a picture. I had no idea that 5 years ago I gave birth to a MONKEY! But a monkey he is, an i have to remind him all day long such things as “No, Lukey, throwing golf balls in the house is NOT a good choice” or “Maybe you should wait for Mommy to get Keaton out of his crib instead of doing it yourself” or “You really need to keep your clothes ON your body when you are playing with girls.” HONESTLY! I fear for the teenage years…..

A perfectly typical Sunday afternoon for the Kurtz family today. church, naps, roast dinner, basketball in the couldesac and a hike on Mt. Burdell. Perfection. So, Mikey and I had an interesting conversation today. Yes, it’s true, we talked about how babies are made. Hey, he asked, and he wanted details! So I found myself using words like “special” and “beautiful” and sounded totally like a parent. My parent. Argh! When did he grow up? Needless to say, he was a bit mortified but took it all quite well. I asked if he had any questions, and he just asked if I would play Mario Kart on the Wii with him. OK, over I guess. Not so bad. I fear for the same conversation with Luke…..
